What information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Kerr & Co. LLC ("we," "us"), a Michigan limited liability company, handles information in connection with builtbykerr.com (the "Site") and our services.
The short version: This is a simple marketing website with a contact form. We don't sell your information. We do run one advertising tracker — the Meta pixel, described in section 1 — so that we can tell which ads bring people here. Everything else we hold is what you voluntarily sent us.
When you contact us by email or through the contact form on this Site, or engage our services, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, and details about your project. During an engagement we may also receive account access, business data, and materials you provide so we can perform the work.
The contact form on this Site is processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service. When you submit it, the name, email address, phone number (if you choose to provide one), and service selection you enter are transmitted to Web3Forms, which forwards them to us by email. We use those details only to respond to your inquiry — not for marketing lists or automated sequences — unless you tick the optional box on the form asking to hear when something changes in local search or ads. That box is unchecked by default: leaving it alone means your details are used to reply to you and for nothing else. Web3Forms publishes its own privacy policy at web3forms.com.
If you do tick it, one row is written to a database we run ourselves — not a marketing platform: your email address, the name of the site it came from, and the time. That is the entire row. No IP address, no user agent, no referer, and nothing that would let us build a profile of you. Nothing loads when you open this page in order to collect it; the form posts once, when you submit it. Consent is per site, so ticking it here does not subscribe you to anything else we run. You can remove yourself at any time at this page — enter the address and it is deleted, no account and no reply-and-wait. You can also just ask us and we will do it.
The free website check on the homepage goes through the same Web3Forms service. When you submit it, the web address, the phone number or email address, and the trade (if you pick one) that you enter are sent to Web3Forms, which forwards them to us by email. We use them to prepare your check, send it to you and reply to you — not for marketing lists or automated sequences.
The homepage has an assistant that answers questions about pricing, scope and
timelines. Nothing is sent when the page loads or when you open it. When you type a
question and press send, the conversation so far — your questions and its answers, up
to the last twelve messages — is sent to kerr-lead-agent.kerrco.workers.dev,
a program we run on Cloudflare Workers, which uses Cloudflare Workers AI to write the
answer and sends it back. Like any web request, it also carries your IP address and
browser details to Cloudflare. Please do not type anything you would not put in an email
to us.
The assistant stores nothing in your browser — no cookie, no local storage — and the conversation exists only in the open page: reload or close it and it is gone. Our program does not save conversations or forward them to us. Cloudflare handles the requests it serves under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. When the first answer arrives, the Meta pixel described below records that the assistant was used — not what you typed.
This Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like virtually all web hosting, GitHub's servers automatically log basic technical request data, which may include IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request. We do not control that logging and do not use it for marketing. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.
This Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google's servers that may expose your IP address to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
This Site uses Plausible Analytics for anonymous pageview counts. Plausible is cookieless and privacy-focused: it stores no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and does not track you across sites. Loading its script does expose your IP address to Plausible at the moment of the request, which it uses to derive a country and then discards. See Plausible's Privacy Policy.
The booking calendar on the homepage is Calendly. Opening the
page loads a script from assets.calendly.com and an embedded Calendly
frame, so Calendly receives your IP address and browser details, and sets its own
cookies, whether or not you book anything. If you do book, the name, email address
and any notes you enter go to Calendly and to us. Calendly is the data controller
for what it collects; see Calendly's privacy notice. Any content blocker stops it
loading, and nothing else on this Site depends on it — the page falls back to an
email address and the contact form below it.
This Site runs the Meta pixel (Facebook/Instagram advertising).
It sets a first-party cookie named _fbp and sends Meta the page you
viewed, your IP address, your browser user-agent, and — if you submit the contact
form or the free website check, book a call through the calendar, or get an answer
from the assistant — the fact that it happened. We use it for two things only:
to see which ads bring people to this Site, and to avoid paying to show ads to
people who have already contacted us.
We do not send Meta your name, your email address, your phone number, your web address or anything you type. The conversion event records that an inquiry occurred and, for the contact form, which service you picked from its list.
Plausible Analytics, described above, remains cookieless.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked to hear from us.
Performing our services may require access to your accounts and systems — website hosting, Google Business Profile, ad accounts, analytics, CRM, or similar. We treat that access as confidential, use it only to perform the agreed work, and do not access systems outside the scope of the engagement.
You may revoke our access at any time. On request at the end of an engagement, we will return or delete client materials in our possession, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate record-keeping.
If our work involves handling personal information belonging to your customers (for example, leads generated by a campaign), you remain the controller of that data and are responsible for your own privacy disclosures and any required consents.
Depending on the engagement, work may involve third-party platforms — including Google (Analytics, Ads, Business Profile), Meta (Facebook/Instagram advertising), hosting and domain providers, email and messaging providers, payment processors, and AI/automation vendors. These providers have their own privacy policies and data practices, which we do not control. We recommend reviewing the policies of any platform you use.
We take reasonable measures to protect information in our possession, including limiting access and using reputable providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide services, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations — typically the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable record-retention period.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK GDPR — including rights of access, deletion, correction, portability, and objection to certain processing. We do not sell personal information for money. California's CPRA defines "sharing" broadly enough to include sending pixel data to Meta for advertising purposes, so we treat the Meta pixel described in section 1 as "sharing" and give you the right to opt out of it. Use the opt-out links in section 1, send a Global Privacy Control signal, or email us and we will honour the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
This Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We operate in the United States. If you access this Site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
This Site links to third-party websites (including our own products and external references). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, with the "Last updated" date revised. Material changes affecting active clients will be communicated directly.
