What we build for businesses

Websites, search, ads, and custom AI — for Grand Rapids and West Michigan businesses, and remote clients who want an operator who ships. Fixed prices, no hourly billing, and a monthly plan only if it's actually earning its keep.

How it works

One 20-minute call. We handle the rest.

Most agencies hand you a 40-question content planner and wait. You're busy running a business — so we do the work instead. No homework, no logins to learn, no chasing.

  1. You talk, we write

One recorded 20-minute call — from your truck or your office. We pull the rest from what you already have and write the whole site for you.

  2. Feedback by pointing

Click anywhere on the draft and type. No accounts, no passwords, no describing “the blue thing under the map”.

  3. You own everything

Domain, hosting, logins and accounts registered in your name from day one. If you leave, you keep all of it and we help you move.

  4. Real dates, not “3–4 weeks”

A written date before you commit, and the scope and price beside it.

Why work with us

You get the person who builds it

No account managers, no junior handoff, no six-week timelines for a five-page site. You work directly with the founder — who ships production software for a living and can prove it.

Comparison figures are typical ranges for small-business web projects, not quotes from any specific company — your project always gets its own fixed quote. Agency build and maintenance-retainer ranges are from Digital Applied’s 2026 pricing data (published 8 April 2026, read 18 August 2026), which puts a boutique agency build at $8,000–$15,000 and a small-business maintenance retainer at $1,800–$6,000 a year. Our $199/mo sits inside that range rather than under it: the difference is what the plan includes and who does the work, not the price.

Build story · our first case study

How our build engine took ProposalAI from idea to a finished B2B product.

ProposalAI helps contractors send polished, branded proposals in minutes and win more bids. The product, the marketing site, and Stripe billing were built almost entirely by Jarvis Factory — our multi-agent build engine — under our direction. We didn't just design a proposal tool; we built the whole thing: a real ICP, the product, the site that sells it, and the billing behind it.

01  Positioning & ICP 02  Product built by agents 03  Marketing site & Stripe 04  Billing wired end to end

That's what a client build looks like with us: a complete piece of software, built and wired for payment, in the time most agencies spend scoping. ProposalAI was our own proving run for the build engine — not a product we sell or support — and that is exactly why it is worth showing you. Not a prototype, not a deck. Tell us what you want built. Or pay monthly

Own It Monthly — $149/mo

The same Starter Site build, paid over twelve months. At month twelve the site is yours outright — code, content and domain — and the payments stop. Hosting, updates and edits are included the whole time.

Paying up front is cheaper: $999 once against $1,788 over a year. This exists so that price is not the reason you wait, not because it is the better deal.

  • You own it at month 12. Not a licence, not a lease.
  • Buy out whenever you like. Pay the remaining balance and it is yours that day.
  • If you stop, the site comes down. Ownership arrives with the twelfth payment, so stopping early means it does not transfer — but we hold your site for 90 days and the buy-out above stays open the whole time.
  • Nobody else here does this. Local subscription studios run $67–$699/mo with no end date and no ownership stated on their pricing pages — checked 2026-08-24 on their own sites.

On every project, whatever the size

  • We write the copy. You do not hand us finished text and hope.
  • Three rounds of revisions are included. Anything after that is quoted before a minute of work happens.
  • 50% to start, 50% on launch. Negotiable on larger builds — ask.
  • A fixed price and a date, in writing, before you commit. No hourly meter, ever.
  • You own all of it at the end: code, content, domain, accounts. No lock-in.

What the price does not include

  • Photography and logo design. You supply images and brand assets, or we use stock. Logo work is quoted separately.
  • Domain and third-party fees — your domain, your ad spend, any paid app you ask us to connect.
  • Hosting after launch, unless you take a care plan. Static sites can be handed to you to host free.
  • Regulated copy — medical, legal or financial claims that need a specialist to sign off.

What moves the price

  • How many pages — the main driver, and the one you control.
  • Whether you need a custom tool, and how many of your existing systems it has to talk to. One integration is not four.
  • Whether the content exists. A business with photos, a price list and a clear offer is faster to build for.
  • Your deadline. Normal turnarounds are already days; compressing further costs more.

Two things that are separate builds, because pretending otherwise is how quotes go wrong: a website and a custom tool are priced apart. A 6-page site with copywriting is $2,499. The same site plus a working booking or quoting tool is $4,999, because the tool is software that has to be built, connected and maintained — not a page. If you only want the tool and already have a site, that starts at $3,500 on its own.

Building a product rather than a website? See studio engagements → — AI build audits, 0→1 product sprints, and agent & automation builds.

Our guarantee: we rework the first deliverable until you sign off. You see real, shipped work before you're locked in — the kind of risk-reversal only a studio that ships its own products can afford to make.

Price it yourself, right now

The page above says you get scope, price and a date in writing before you commit. Rather than ask you to email for that, here it is.

Your estimate$999

Starter Site

    Get this in writing

Every figure here is the published price from the cards above — this reads the same numbers, so the two cannot disagree. The date is the earliest start, counted in business days; the delivery date is fixed in writing once scope is agreed, which is the whole point of doing it this way.

    How we work

A studio that directs AI to ship real things.

Four rules, and the founder section below says who applies them.

    01

    Ship first, iterate in public

Real products in users' hands quickly, then improve with data — never a six-month deck.

    02

    AI-directed, end to end

We orchestrate AI across the whole stack, so a small studio moves like a big team.

    03

    Own every layer

Product, distribution, monetization, and growth — not just code. We think like operators.

    04

    Local-first & private

On-device and sandboxed where it matters — privacy and control as a default, not an afterthought.

    Is this a fit?

Who we do our best work with

We take on only a handful of builds a year, so we're honest about fit up front — it saves everyone time.

    You're a great fit if…

    • You're a funded founder or operator who needs a real AI product shipped to production.
    • You want a partner who ships, owns outcomes, and moves fast — not a body-shop of contractors.
    • You value privacy, craft, and software that actually works over a flashy deck.

    Probably not a fit if…

    • You're shopping purely for the cheapest quote.
    • You need a large outsourced team to manage yourself.
    • You're not ready to make a decision this quarter.

You'll work directly with Matthew Kerr.

Kerr & Company is small on purpose. I direct AI end-to-end to ship real, monetized products — a notarized macOS app with a paying customer and 3 provisional U.S. patents, a live B2B SaaS, and an automation engine that builds software on its own.

You don't get handed off to a junior team. When you work with the studio, you get the same instincts and the same speed I use to ship my own products — and I reply to every inquiry personally.

    FAQ

AI product studio & consulting in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Common questions about working with Kerr & Company — what things cost, how fast they ship, and what we've built.

How much does a website cost in Grand Rapids?

Kerr & Company starts at $999 for a starter site, $2,499 for a business site, and $4,999 when there is a custom tool involved. Published local rates put most Grand Rapids small business sites between $3,000 and $15,000, and local freelancers between $2,500 and $6,000, so these sit below the local market. You get the scope, the price and the delivery date in writing before you commit.

Does Kerr & Company do AI consulting in Grand Rapids and Michigan?

Yes. Kerr & Company is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and takes on select AI-build and automation engagements for founders, operators, and West Michigan businesses — from AI product development to custom agents and workflow automation.

What has Kerr & Company built?

Outlier, a private offline AI app for macOS with a paying customer and 3 provisional patents; ProposalAI, a complete B2B product built by our own agent framework as a proving run; Crisp, Docket and AdPlaybook, each with its own site and working checkout; and Jarvis Factory, an automation engine that orchestrates 100+ AI agents to build software.

How much does a website cost?

A simple business website starts at $999, a standard multi-page site around $2,499, and a growth site with a custom AI tool from $4,999. Care plans start at $199/month. You get a fixed quote before any work begins — never hourly billing. See packages.

How much does a product build or AI engagement cost?

Studio work is priced separately from websites: an AI Build Audit from $3,500, a 0→1 Product Sprint from $25,000, or an Agent & Automation Build from $15,000 — see studio engagements.

What makes Kerr & Company different from an AI agency?

Kerr & Company ships its own AI products, one of which has a paying customer, backed by 3 provisional patents — so you hire operators who build and launch software, not an agency learning on your budget. Every first deliverable is reworked until you sign off.
